Coffee Metabolism Benefits

12 Benefits of Coffee

Review of Java Burn by Sandy Abbott

12 ways coffee improves seniors health

There are conflicting opinions about whether coffee is good for you.  Some experts say it is great and others say it is poison.  Over the years I have heard everything from “absolutely stay away from it” to “it is god’s gift to mankind.”  I have heard everything from “it helps the brain function” to “it helps prevent some diseases,” so I decided to investigate, and I was able to make a list for myself of 12 good reasons to drink coffee.

1) Coffee helps you lose weight.

Some studies found that coffee does help a bit as long as you don’t add sugar to it. I was most interested in this myself because I no longer look like I did when I was in High School back in the 60s.
Note: There is a product (Which I can recommend) that you add to your coffee, and it greatly enhances metabolism, fat burning and the weight loss effect of coffee. Click here for an 80% discount. Java Burn.

2) The magic of caffeine.

Within a short time of drinking coffee, the caffeine enters the bloodstream, and you feel more awake.  I don’t know if it makes me feel more awake, but it does make me feel less sleepy. I am not sure if it is the caffeine, but coffee helps me with appetite suppression.

3) The buzz word these days is “antioxidants”

Coffee is an antioxidant.  Just in case you are not sure what an antioxidant is, here is my definition:  Anything with an “anti” in front means it is against whatever comes next.  That means coffee is against oxidants.  I am sure you agree with that!  No one like oxidants.  That is why everyone is pro coffee and against oxidants.  Makes sense?

4) Physical performance is improved.

Again, caffeine has something to do with the chemicals in your body that allow you to perform better.  I know if I have a cup before I hit the gym, I can do a bit better.  I can do more repetitions without getting tired so fast.  Sometimes it does not work. For example I stopped at the coffee shop on the way to the gym a few weeks and met an old girl friend. I never did make it to the gym that day.

5) Evidently coffee is good for your heart.

The effect coffee has on the blood vessels helps reduce the risk of developing heart related problems in the long run.  Speaking of long runs, I am not sure they are good for your heart and drinking coffee does not take as much time as a long run. Maybe a short run would work?

6) Insulin and Coffee

There are some scientific studies that show coffee helps the body deal with insulin better and this can have an effect on lowering the risk of certain types of diabetes.  However, this is offset if you use as much sugar as my friend Manny. This article recommends you drink coffee with a meal.  Manny tested this idea by eating a dozen doughnuts with his coffee. Don’t try that at home.

7) Helps your liver

Helps your liver from falling apart.  There are chemicals in coffee that have a positive effect on your liver.  However, similar to sugar, these benefits can be overshadowed if you drink as much as my friends in college did.

8) Coffee can put you in a better mood.

Some of the chemicals in coffee can give you a lift.  This is enhanced if you just got some good news while you drink your coffee.

9) Maybe Live longer

There are some studies that indicate coffee drinkers live longer.  This does not apply to people who drink coffee and try to drive all night without sleep or to people who insist on rock climbing after drinking coffee. Clint Eastwood used to breakup robberies just after coffee and he has lived a very long time.

10)  Brain Health

There is some scientific evidence that people who drink coffee have less brain problems as they arrive at old age. Maybe I will start donating coffee to political campaigns instead of money.

11) Think clearly

Coffee helps you think more clearly.  “Everyone knows” that it helps make your mind sharper and think more clearly.  There are several chemicals that are responsible for all this, but the bottom line is, coffee seems to enhance mood, improve memory, and just generally get the brain out bed and off to work.  If I miss a day of coffee this becomes all too obvious.

12) Caffeine and Erectile Dysfunction

This is a personal topic but it came up a lot while I was researching the effects of coffee and it may be of interest to seniors, so I will just quickly mention it here. Can coffee help with you know what? The answer seems to be “yes” to some extent. Anyway it can’t hurt. I will continue to do some personal research and let you know someday in the future what I discover.

In conclusion

So after all this research I am satisfied that coffee is not a bad thing. It seems to boost brain function and physical endurance and over all well being. I can’t remember who told me coffee was bad for you. I will never believe them again.

What was most impressive, was the fact that it can help protect against some long term disease. Since I am getting on in years the word “longevity” is becoming more and more interesting to me.

Weight Loss is a big concern in the USA. Coffee reportedly can help this. I am pleased to report that Java Burn is a coffee additive that helps with metabolism and weight loss and a few other things. Very cool stuff.

The nice thing about coffee is how much fun it is to drink. I look forward to the mornings when I jump out of bed and make my first cup. Then my mid-morning cup and of course my lunch time cup. If no one is looking I might slip in a mid afternoon cup. I never did this much when I was on the kale diet.

So in conclusion, it seems to be the perfect health drink. It is enjoyable and healthy in so many ways and all this is backed up with not only science but my own personal testing over a 50 year period.
